Today, Ukrainian rescue Maya enjoyed some dedicated one‑to‑one adventure time with UltraPaws owner, McKenzie — a gentle, confidence‑building session designed just for her.
Maya’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. After being rescued from Ukraine and settling into her new life in the UK, she arrived with understandable anxieties and a deep uncertainty about the world around her. Over the past few days, she has been slowly learning to trust, exploring at her own pace, and discovering that adventures can be safe, calm, and even enjoyable.
During today’s session, McKenzie focused on giving Maya space, reassurance, and quiet encouragement. Together they explored peaceful paths, took in new scents, and moved at a pace that suited her. Every small step — from walking confidently beside him to pausing to observe her surroundings — is a milestone in her ongoing progress.
